(25 minutes) What is Workplace Housekeeping?
Workplace housekeeping is the ongoing process of keeping a worksite clean, tidy, and free from hazards. It involves more than just cleaning. It includes: Orderliness: Keeping all materials, tools, and equipment in their proper place. Cleanliness: Removing dirt, dust, spills, and waste materials regularly. Organisation: Arranging the workspace for safe and efficient movement and work.
A popular phrase to remember is: "A place for everything, and everything in its place."
Good housekeeping is the foundation of a safe workplace. It prevents common accidents like slips, trips, falls, fires, and contact with hazardous materials.
