Lesson summary

As SHS students, your life is often filled with studies, preps, house chores, and the pressure of preparing for WASSCE. It is easy to feel stressed and tired. This lesson is about something that can help you balance your life, improve your health, and even make you a better student: Recreational Activities. We will explore what these activities are and, most importantly, the incredible benefits they offer. Think of recreation not as "wasting time," but as a way to recharge your body and mind so you can tackle your academic and personal responsibilities with more energy and focus.

Lesson notes

A. What are Recreational Activities?

Recreation refers to all those activities you choose to do in your leisure time (free time) because you enjoy them. The key purpose is pleasure, amusement, and relaxation.

Key Characteristics: Voluntary: You are not forced to do it; you choose to do it. Done During Leisure Time: This is time free from compulsory activities like schoolwork, chores, or employment. Provides Refreshment: It should refresh or "re-create" your mind and body, leaving you feeling better afterwards.

Example: Sweeping the school compound is a chore. Playing a game of football with your friends after classes is recreation. B. Types of Recreational Activities
