Welcome, class! Today, we're going to explore how our bodies move. Understanding movement concepts will help us become better at playing games, dancing, and even doing everyday activities with more confidence and skill. When you understand how your body moves, you can avoid injuries and improve your overall fitness.

Let's learn about some important movement concepts! Movement: Movement is simply when your body changes position. Examples include walking to school, throwing a ball, or dancing to Highlife music. Space Awareness: This means understanding where you are in relation to other people and objects. We use words like *near, far, high, low, over, under, around, through, in front, behind, and beside*. Example 1: When playing football, you need to be aware of where your teammates are *near* the goal so you can pass them the ball. Example 2: When playing Ampe, you need to jump *high* to avoid your opponent's foot. Body Awareness: This means understanding what your body can do and how different parts of your body move. Example: You know that your legs are for walking and your arms are for throwing. Effort Awareness: This refers to how much energy you use when you move. We describe effort in terms of *speed* (fast or slow) and *force* (strong or light). Example 1: Running *fast* to catch up with a friend. Example 2: Gently placing a book on a table, using *light* force. Relationships: How you relate to other people and objects while you move. This includes things like *leading, following, mirroring, and working together*. Example: In a dance routine, you might *follow* your partner's movements.

Let's put these concepts into action with some examples:

Imagine you're playing *Oware*. You need to *move* your hand *slowly and carefully* (effort awareness) to pick up the seeds. You need to be *aware of the space* in the board so you don't knock over any seeds. You are also relating to the *objects* in the game (the seeds and the board).

Imagine you are fetching water. You walk *from your house* (space awareness) *to the borehole*. You *lift* the bucket of water with *strong* force. You move *slowly*. Guided Practice (With Solutions)
