The teacher revises the previous lesson on the meaning of the local government

Pupils  pay attention

EXPLANATION

She explains the meaning of the local government

The local government is the third tier government in Nigeria

 

Pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 3

DEMONSTRATION

Using the pictures, she describes the duties of the Local Government chairman

- he manages the affairs of the Local government

- He prepares the annual budget of the local government at the beginning of the year

- he dictates the duties of the cabinet members

- He conducts the weekly cabinet meeting with his executives

- He provides annual report assessing the effectiveness of local government leaders

- He directs the costs and revenue of the local government to higher authorities
