INTRODUCTION OF TOPIC

The teacher revises the previous lesson on the meaning of the local government

Pupils  pay attention

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

She explains the meaning of the local government

The local government is the third tier government in Nigeria

 

Pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 3

DEMONSTRATION

Using the chart she describes the functions of the Local government

1. It is responsible for the registrations of marriage, birth and death

2. It provides citizens with basic amenities such good roads, street lights, roads, etc

3. They regulate the activities of small organizations e.g restaurants, shops, bakeries, kiosks, etc

4. They provide nursery, primary education

5. They provide scholarship and bursaries award

The teacher writes a short note on the board for the pupils to copy
