SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

1) Explain the meaning of air pollution

2) List the items found in different parts of the home and their uses

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources, pictures and charts showing smokes coming from open fires and companies, pictures showing the different parts of the homes and various items in it

Air pollution happens when gases, smoke, dust and smells get into the hair making it unclean.

Sitting room

1. television- used to watch news, cartoons etc

2. radio- used to listen to news and other shows

3. couch/settee- it is used for sitting down

4. Table- for writing

5. Fan/air conditioner- for cooling the room temperature

 

Bedroom

1. Bed- for sleeping

2. Lamp- for reading

3. wardrobes- for storing clothes and other accessories

4. table and chair- for writing

 

Kitchen

1. Gas/electric cooker- for cooking

2. Oven- for baking

3. Blender- for blending pepper and other items

4. Freezer and refrigerators- for storing and preserving food items

5. table- for cutting and chopping items

6. sink- for washing plates

 

Toilet

1. water closet: to pass faeces and urine

 

Bathroom

1. wash hand basin- for brushing and washing the hands

2. bath tub/Jacuzzi/tiles floors- for bathing

3. buckets- for putting water

 

Dining room

1. Table and chairs- for eating

2. microwave oven- for warming food

3. Place mats: for placing food and holding its heat
