INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Picture chart of traditional rulers of the yorubas, igbos and Hausas.

INTRODUCTION OF TOPIC

The teacher revises the previous lesson on roles of community members

Pupils  pay attention

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

She explains the meaning of traditional rulers

Traditional rulers are people with the authority to control the affairs of the people in the community

Pupils pay attention and participate

STEP 3

DEMONSTRATION

Using pictures, she outlines the roles of community members

1. To defend the community against any external attack or invaders

2. To protect the properties and structures belonging to the community

3. To be honest in all dealings with other members of the community

4. To be hardworking and cooperative with other members of the community in achieving the common good

Pupils pay attention and participate
