SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

1) Discuss the benefits of the sun to plants and human beings

2) Explain how to care for the eyes

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources, pictures showing the benefit of the sun to human beings and plants, pictures showing how to care for the eyes

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous lesson on the sun and functions of the eyes

EXPLANATION

She introduces the new topic by explaining The benefits of the sun to human beings and plants

1. as a source of light

2. it provides warmth and heat

3. it is used for the production of food for plants in a process called photosynthesis

4. it is used to make clothes and other food items to be dry

DEMONSTRATION

She explains the care of the eyes

1. do not use poor lights e.g candles to read

2. avoid putting sharp objects in the eyes

3. Clean with clean handkerchief

4. use dark goggles in the sun
