SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

1) Explain the uses of rocks and stones to the farmer

2) Discuss the dangers of not caring for the nose and ears

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources, charts of various uses of stones and rocks to farmers, chart showing the care of the ears and nose and materials used for caring for the ears and nose

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous lesson on the uses of land and functions of the ears and nose

EXPLANATION

She introduces the new topic by explaining the uses of rocks and stones to farmers

1. They are used to sharpen the edges of tools like cutlass, machetes, etc

2. They are used to crack open hard nuts e.g coconuts, palm kernels etc

3. they are used to blend pepper, tomatoes, melon seeds, ogbono etc

4. they are used to minimize flood and erosion effects

5. they can be used to build storage facilities on the farm e.g barns

Pupils pay attention

DEMONSTRATION

She explains the dangers of not caring for the nose and ears

1. one could end up deaf

2. the nose will no longer be sensitive in picking odours and scents

3. one can experience ear aches

4. the ear will start producing disgusting discharge

5. it could result to nose bleed

6. it could lead to respiratory problems e.g catarrh
