Meaning of heroes and heroines
A hero is a man who we admire for doing a brave and great thing
A heroine is a woman who we admire for doing a brave and great thing
ALHAJI ABDUSALAMI ABUBAKAR
He is a retired military head of state of Nigeria who ruled from 9th of June, 1998 to 29th of May 1999. He was the successor of General Sani Abacha.
It was during his rule, Nigeria adopted its 1999 constitution. A few days after his assumption of office, he promised to hold elections and transfer power to the elected president which saw the emergence of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the President. In order to achieve this, he established the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
He is fondly remembered for transitioning Nigeria from the yars of military dictatorship to Civilian governance
