STEP 2 EXPLANATION | The teacher mentions some safety precautions to be taken during flood 1. Gather emergency supplies, including non-perishable food and water. 2. Listen to your local radio or television station for updates. 3. Have immunization records handy (or know the year of your last tetanus shot). 4. Bring in outdoor items (lawn furniture, grills, trash cans) or tie them down securely. 5. If evacuation appears necessary, turn off all utilities at the main power switch and close the main gas valve. 6. Leave areas subject to flooding such as low spots, canyons, washes, etc. (Remember: avoid driving through flooded areas and standing water.)
She further safety precautions during a fire outbreak 1. Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas. 2. Test smoke alarms every month. 3. Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year. 4. If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL FOR HELP.
