SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Demonstrate that air exists
  2. Demonstrate the importance of air to living things
  3. Describe the functions of a printer, hard disk and scanner
  4. Demonstrate the skills in local games

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: paper, hand fan, fan, balloons, polythene bags etc, playground, balls, cones, whistle, footwear, jersey

STEP 1

Introduction of the topic

The teacher introduces the topic with a song about air

She asks the pupils to breathe in and out and tells them they just inhaled and exhaled air

Explanation

She explains that air can be created by creating a paper hand fan which they in turn use in fanning their partner

STEP 3

Demonstration

Using, the pictures, She further explains the importance of air to living things

1. Life exists because of air

2. Air holds airplanes and kites above the ground

3. Air regulates the temperature of the earth

4. Inflation of balloons and tyres are as a result of air

NOTE TAKING

The teacher writes a short note on the board

The pupils write the notes in their books

 

NOTE

Importance of air to living things

  1. Life exists because of air
  2. Air holds airplanes and kites above the ground
  3. Air regulates the temperature of the earth
  4. Inflation of balloons and tyres are as a result of air

 

EVALUATION:    1. Mention three importance of air to living things

CLASS ACTIVITY: Pupils, in small groups, brainstorm about the effects of air in their environment

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively

Scanner- A scanner is a device that captures images from photographic prints, posters, magazine pages and similar sources for computer editing and display.

 

Hard disk-A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk or hard drive, is something used by computers to store information
