She explains to the pupils that branches of art are the various categories or divisions of art. Some branches of art are: painting, sculpture. Art works are classified into: fine arts, performance art, decorative art.

NOTE

Branches of art are the various categories/divisions of art. Some branches of art include: painting, sculpture, textile, ceramics, graphics.

1) Sculpture: This is the art of making beautiful art works using wood, clay, stone, metal etc. For example: chairs, pots, cups, tables.

2) Painting: This is the art of colouring using colours.

3) Textile: This is the art of making and designing clothes using plants, flowers, animal skin etc.

4)Ceramics: This is the art of moulding with clay. For example: cups and pots moulded from clay

5) Graphics: This is the art of drawing and designing objects on the paper.

Artworks are classified into fine arts, performance art, decorative art, applied art
