  • Differentiate sounds and music
  • Identify the letters of tonic sol-fa and their tune correctly

INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC

The teacher introduces the topic with a song

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains that sounds are of many types but not all pleases our sense of hearing. While music is what pleases our sense of hearing.

She then tells the pupils the letters of the tonic sol-fa and how to pronounce them correctly such as: DO, RE,MI

DEMONSTRATION

Using piano,chart, clef, drum, chalk board she teaches the pupils how to correctly pronounce the tune of the tonic sol-fa. She then shows them pictures of musical instruments.

NOTE

Sound are of different types depending on the pitch, loudness, amplitude, and frequency of the sound wave but not all of them please our sense of hearing. Sound is divided into noise and music depending on whether we like it or not. Whereas, all music are pleasing to our hearing. The letters of the tonic sol-fa are DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, TI
