Content

Veterinary medicine is the branch of science that deals with the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of diseases in animals. The animals looked after could be domestic or wild animals.

Professionals in veterinary medicine

  1. Veterinary Doctor
  2. Veterinary Nurse
  3. Veterinary Technician

A veterinary Doctor can be called a Veterinarian (vet)

Roles of veterinary medicine

  1. It helps in the prevention of animal diseases.
  2. It helps in controlling and eradication of animal diseases.
  3. It helps in providing the best food for the animals.
  4. It helps in preservation of wild animals in the zoo.
  5. It helps in the prevention of direct transmission of animal disease to men through meat, milk etc.

Equipment used in veterinary medicine

  4. X – ray                for X – ray view
