Content
A spirit of divination
Some people know about certain events through a special way. They can have information about other people’s future without being told by another person. This can happen through a different spirit in them and not the Holy Spirit. If a person has the Spirit of God, he will be able to tell what would happen in the future to another person through a different spirit. A spirit of divination is a spirit of the devil that is capable of giving a particular knowledge to a person.
Paul and the slave girl in Phillipi
Paul saw a slave girl when he was going to pray, during his stay in phillipi. The girl had a spirit of divination. The girl used the spirit to make a lot of money for her masters. When she saw Paul, she followed him about for many days during which she told people that Paul was a servant of the most High God who spoke to people on how to be saved. When Paul was tired of hearing her voice, he commanded the spirit to come out of her by the power of the name of Jesus. The spirit left the girl immediately and she could no longer make money for her masters. (Acts 16:16-18)
