Objective: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to know the importance of Agriculture.

Content

The roles that Agriculture plays in human life, is very much. Agriculture has been noted for the provision of raw materials which are used by the local industries. For example, cotton is used in the cloth making industry, sugar cane, is also used in the sugar making industry.

Agriculture also helps in the provision of shelter for people in the world. It also serves as sources of income to farmers and foreign exchange to the country by selling some cash crops such as cocoa, rubber, coffee to other countries.

Some agricultural products can be processed into another foods, example is cassava to garri and starch.

Forest trees also serves as sources of timber. There are many articles that can be produced from timber, some of which are:

  1. Furniture
  2. Door
  3. Plywood
  4. Ruler
  5. Rail sleepers

Presentation:

Step I: Teacher revises previous lesson with pupils

Step II: Teacher introduces and explain new topic to pupils

Step III: Pupils are allowed to ask questions

Step IV: Teacher writes note on the boards for pupils

Evaluation:
