Content

Mechanized farming simply means the use of farm machinery to do farm operation. Mechanized farming has greatly increased the workers productivity of farm because farming operation that was formerly done by man and with farm animals are now easily carried using farm machines and implement.

Farm operation such as ploughing, harvesting, tilling etc are carried our using farm machines. This helps to reduce manual labourers and save time. Mechanized farming is a capital intensive business and such money needed can be gotten as loan from banks. It also requires huge amount of farmland.

Importance of mechanized farming

  1. Reduces amount of manual labour
  2. Increases farm productivity
  3. It reduces farm waste
  4. It enables mass production of food
