Components of physical fitness and body and conditioning are;

  1. Cardiovascular endurance
  2. Flexibility
  3. Strength
  4. Muscular endurance
  5. Body composition
  6. Power
  7. Balance
  8. Speed
  9. Co ordination
  10. Agility
  11. Reaction time

There are five main components of overall fitness

  1. Muscular strength: This is the power that enables you to do things, such as lifting or carrying heavy objects.
  2. Muscular endurance: This is the muscle power that you can use for extended periods of time.
  3. Cardio respiratory endurance: This is the ability to keep on doing an exercise, which forces the cardiovascular system (lungs, heart and blood vessels) to work hard.
  4. Body composition: This is the proportions of fat, muscle and bone in the body.
  5. Flexibility: This is important for physical fitness because the body should be able to move through a range of motions without pain or fitness.

The benefits of Agility

  1. It reduces the risk of bone and muscle injury
  2. It improves recovery time after exercise
  3. It increases, balance, control and flexibility
  4. It trains your body to move quickly and effectively

The benefits of Power

  1. Improved posture
  2. Stronger bones
  3. Better concentration, leading to better marks at school
  4. Stronger muscles to protects your joints and back

The benefits of Flexibility

  1. Helps improve your posture
  2. Lengthens and stretches muscles, which prevents injuries
  3. Improves blood circulation because flexible muscles are more relaxed

Presentation:

Step I: Teacher revises previous lesson with pupils

Step II: Teacher introduces and explains new topic to pupils

Step III: Pupils are allowed to ask questions

Evaluation:

  1. Mention 5 components of physical fitness and explain two
  2. Mention two benefit each:
