Objective: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to the advantages of computer networks

Content 

Computer networks have the following advantages:

1. They reduce costs of purchasing and installing software
2.  They reduce costs of purchasing and installing printers
3. We can communicate freely and directly to somebody far away as if the person is by our side.
4. It helps to speed up work as different people can, at the same time, do different aspects of a given job
5. Pictures, music, video’s and other files, can easily be transferred from one person to another without either person moving at all
6. People can play computer games that are found on their friend’s system if they are connected through a computer network.
7. People can buy and sell goods through the network
8. It is the fastest means of sending a mail or a letter to a friend

Presentation:

Step I: Teacher revises previous lesson with pupils

Step II: Teacher introduces and explains new topic to pupils

Step III: Pupils are allowed to ask questions

Step IV: Teacher writes note on the board for pupils

Evaluation:

1. Define computer networks
2. List 5 advantages of computer networks
