Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify body parts (head, shoulders, knees, toes, eyes, hands, legs).
  2. Touch and point to their own body parts when named.
  3. Participate in body parts songs and games.
  4. Identify body parts on dolls and pictures.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.”

Pupils point to their body parts.

Teacher names a body part; pupils repeat and touch it.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Teacher points to body parts on self and on dolls.

Pupils touch their own body parts as named.

Play “Touch your …” game with body part charts.

 

Materials Needed:

Body parts chart, dolls, mirrors, flashcards, songs/music.

 

Movement Break:

Sing and act out “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.”

Jump and touch head, clap hands, stamp feet.

 

Creative Time:

Colour an outline of a child and paste cut-out body parts.

Say the name of each part while colouring.

 

Language Development:

Teacher: “This is my head.”

Pupils repeat: “head, shoulders, knees, toes.”

Picture talk: “What is this?” (Hands.)

 

Assessment (Observation-Based):

✔ Can the child point to a named body part?
✔ Can the child touch their body part when asked?
✔ Can the child name at least one body part?
