Learning Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:

  1. Explain why clean footwear is important for health and appearance.
  2. Identify different types of footwear: shoes, sandals, slippers, boots.
  3. Demonstrate proper footwear hygiene: cleaning shoes, wearing clean socks, storing shoes properly.
  4. Recognize rules: not sharing shoes, wearing correct size, taking shoes off when needed, not walking barefoot in dirty/dangerous places.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Show examples of clean vs dirty shoes.

Discuss different types of footwear and their uses.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Demonstrate cleaning shoes, checking for damage, wearing proper socks.

Practice putting shoes on/off correctly.

Discuss storing shoes properly and wearing correct shoe sizes.

 

Materials Needed:

Shoes, sandals, slippers (variety), cleaning cloths, shoe polish/toy brushes, storybooks about cleanliness, posters showing footwear care.

 

Movement Break:

Pretend cleaning and putting on shoes.

 

Creative Time:

Draw a pair of clean shoes and label their parts.
