Learning Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify parts of the eye: eyeball, eyelids, eyelashes, eyebrows, tears.
  2. Explain the importance of eyes: helps us see and prevents infections.
  3. Demonstrate safe eye care: keeping eyes clean, washing face, not rubbing with dirty hands.
  4. Recognize habits that protect vision: reading in good light, wearing glasses if prescribed, telling adults about eye pain.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Discuss how eyes help us see.

Show pictures of healthy and unhealthy eyes.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Demonstrate washing face and eyes gently.

Practice safe eye habits through role-play: not poking eyes, using clean hands.

Discuss foods that are good for eyes.

 

Materials Needed:

Eye diagrams, face washing station, mirrors, storybooks about eye care, fruits and vegetable pictures.

 

Movement Break:

Pretend rubbing eyes gently and washing face.

 

Creative Time:

Draw eyes and label the parts.
