Learning Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:

  1. Explain what first aid is and why it is important.
  2. Identify common minor injuries: cuts, scrapes, bruises, burns, insect bites, nosebleeds.
  3. Demonstrate basic first aid awareness: calling adult help, cleaning minor wounds, using bandages, pressure for nosebleeds, cold water for burns.
  4. Recognize emergency numbers and when to call adults.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Discuss what to do when someone is hurt.

Show pictures of minor injuries and first aid supplies.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Demonstrate cleaning minor wounds with water, applying bandages, and applying pressure for nosebleeds.

Practice calling for adult help in role-play scenarios.

Discuss comforting someone who is hurt and not treating serious injuries alone.

 

Materials Needed:

First aid kit, bandages, clean water, storybooks about minor injuries, posters of first aid steps, toy phones for emergency practice.

 

Movement Break:

Pretend giving first aid and calling adults for help.

 

Creative Time:

Draw a picture of helping someone safely using first aid.
