Learning Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize animals as living things that can move.
  2. Identify animal body parts (head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, legs, tail).
  3. Make animal sounds and imitate movements.
  4. Compare similarities and differences between animals and humans.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Teacher shows pictures and toys of animals.

Pupils repeat animal names and sounds.

Discuss how animals move.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Pupils point to and name animal body parts in pictures.

Pupils imitate animal movements (hop like rabbit, walk like dog).

Compare human and animal parts (eyes, ears, nose, mouth).

 

Materials Needed:

Animal pictures and flashcards

Toy animals or stuffed animals

Charts showing animal body parts

Videos or storybooks about animals

Animal masks and song charts

 

Movement Break:

Animal parade: Walk, hop, crawl, flap arms like animals.

Jump and stretch like different animals.

 

Creative Time:

Colour animal pictures.

Make animal masks or simple crafts.

 

Language Development:

Teacher: “A dog has four legs and a tail. We have two legs and no tail.”

Pupils repeat: “dog, cat, cow, leg, tail, ear, nose, mouth.”

 

Assessment (Observation-Based):

✔ Can the child identify animals in pictures or toys?
✔ Can the child name at least two animal body parts?
✔ Can the child imitate animal sounds?
✔ Can the child compare at least one similarity/difference between animals and humans?
