Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand plants need water, sunlight, and soil to grow.
  2. Participate in planting and watering activities.
  3. Identify healthy and unhealthy plants.
  4. Draw, colour, and create crafts of plants.

 

Circle Time (5–10 minutes):

Review plant names and parts.

Discuss what happens when plants don’t get water.

Sing plant-related songs.

 

Main Activity (Hands-On):

Pupils plant seeds in small pots/cups.

Pupils water classroom plants (supervised).

Teacher demonstrates gentle handling of plants.

 

Materials Needed:

Small pots or cups

Soil and seeds (beans, maize)

Watering can

Real plants

Colouring sheets, crayons, stickers, craft materials

 

Movement Break:

Pretend to grow like a plant (stretch, sway, bend).

Jump and reach for sunlight.

 

Creative Time:

Colour and draw simple plants (flowers, trees).

Create plant crafts using stickers or paper.

 

Language Development:

Teacher: “We water plants so they can grow strong.”

Pupils repeat: “water, soil, sunlight, grow, plant.”

 

Assessment (Observation-Based):

✔ Can the child plant seeds with guidance?
✔ Can the child water plants correctly?
✔ Can the child identify healthy and unhealthy plants?
