Given the context of organised national sports, "pre-colonial" often refers to champions within traditional sports or early pioneers of modern sports during the colonial era before Nigeria's independence. "Post-colonial" refers to heroes who gained prominence after Nigeria's independence in

A. Early Pioneers/Foundational Heroes (Colonial and Early Independence Era):

1. Dick Tiger (Richard Ihetu)

Sport: Boxing Key Achievements: Former World Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion. Renowned for his aggressive style and incredible stamina.
