  2. Mention some examples of floating object
  3. Demonstrate how the objects float

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Charts showing floating objects, real objects like paper canoe, bucket of water, match stick, balloon, feather etc

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher uses the if you’re happy and you know it song and introduces the topic and explains that floating objects are objects when placed on water, stays above it.

EXPLANATION

She further explains that floating object because they are light when released into the air are carried up into the sky

She lists some examples of floating objects as

Canoe

Match stick

Balloon

Feather

DEMONSTRATION

The teacher demonstrates the floating objects.

 

Using a bucket of water, she places all the objects on it and asks the children to tell her their observations

 

She also gives them balloons to blow air into and release into the air. She asks the children what they observed
