SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  1. Give simple meaning of drug
  2. Mention how drugs should be handled

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: posters/photographs of body parts, drugs, water, sponge, basin, towel, soap.

Introduction of the topic

The teacher uses a story to explain what drugs are and how they are managed

Explanation

She explains what drugs are, telling them drug are substances use in treating diseases/illnesses. She then tells them how drugs are managed e.g no self medication, keeping drugs out of reach of children, do not take overdose, do not take expired drugs.

The teacher uses charts/pictures/posters showing how various drugs are managed.
