SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil’s should be able to

  1. Give the meaning of safety rules.
  2. Mention things they should do to be safe.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: charts/picture/posters showing things a child should do to be safe e.g no playing with electric wires, not crossing the road alone

Introduction of the topic

The teacher introduces the topic with a story on safety rules in our environment

Explanation

The teacher gives a simple definition of safety rules, telling the pupil’s safety rules are those instructions pupil’s obey to keep them safe/protected

Demonstration

Using charts/picture/posters the teacher shows the children things they should do to be safe, such as: no playing with electric sockets or wire, no playing with naked fire, no talking with strangers, no flying kites on the road, no rolling tyre or ball on the road, no sitting in front of the car, no crossing road alone

EVALUATION: 1._____ are rules we obey to keep us safe. ( safety rules, bad rules)
