SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil’s should be able to

  1. Give simple meaning of bad health habits.
  2. Mention some examples of good health habits.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Picture/charts showing dirty nails,bushy hair, mouth odour, mucus in the nose, dirt in the eyes, dirty water.

STEP 1

The teacher introduces the topic with a story on bad habits.

Pupils pay attention

STEP 2

The teacher gives a simple explanation of bad health.

She then tells them the various bad habits of children, such as: dirty nails, bushy hair, mouth odour, mucus in the nose, dirt in the eyes, smoking, drinking dirty water.

Pupils pay attention

STEP 3

Using charts/pictures the teacher shows the pupils the various bad health habits of children.

EVALUATION: 1. ____ is a bad habit. (dirty nails, clean nails)

2.A healthy child has a bad habit. Yes/No

  1. Drinking dirty water and bushy hair are bad habits. Yes/No

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher applauds them and marks their books.
