NOTE

ELECTRONIC WAREHOUSING (E-Warehousing)

E-Warehousing

E-warehousing refers to the use of electronic or digital systems to manage and organize inventory within a warehouse or storage facility. This includes the use of computerized systems, software applications, and digital tools to track, monitor, and control inventory levels, movements, and transactions.

E-Inventory

E-inventory refers to the electronic or digital representation of inventory data, records, and information within an organization. This includes maintaining inventory databases, using inventory management software, and utilizing digital tools to track and monitor inventory levels, locations, and transactions.

E-Requisition

E-requisition refers to the electronic or digital process of requesting and authorizing the procurement of goods or services within an organization. This includes using electronic forms, software applications, and digital workflows to initiate, review, approve, and fulfill requisition requests.

Using computers for inventory management offers several benefits, including:

  1. Accuracy: Computers can perform calculations and data entry tasks with high accuracy, reducing the risk of errors in inventory records and transactions.
  2. Efficiency: Computerized inventory management systems streamline processes such as data entry, stock counting, and order processing, saving time and resources compared to manual methods.
  3. Real-time Visibility: Computerized systems provide real-time visibility into inventory levels, locations, and movements, enabling better decision-making and proactive management of stock.
  4. Automation: Computers can automate repetitive tasks such as stock replenishment, order generation, and reporting, freeing up staff time for more strategic activities.
  5. Integration: Inventory management software can integrate with other business systems such as accounting, purchasing, and sales, facilitating seamless data exchange and process integration across departments.

NOTE: To use a computer for inventory management, businesses can implement inventory management software or utilize spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel to create and maintain inventory records, track stock movements, generate reports, and analyze inventory data.
