  1. Yoruba: The Yoruba tribe is found in urban areas, especially the city of Lagos, which is the second most populous city in Africa. The Yoruba people are mainly located in the south -western part of Nigeria and they make up 21% of the population.

  1. lgbo: They occupy the South-Eastern part of Nigeria and covers 18% of the population. They're a smaller group than the Hausa-Fulani.

  2. Cultural Differences: Due to cultural differences, some ethnic groups desired to have their own states so they can govern themselves based on their culture.
  3. States are created to allay the fears of the Minority groups in the country that they would be swallowed up by the majority groups.

COMPLEXITY AND ENDLESS NATURE OF STATE CREATION.

The process of state creation in Nigeria is complex and endless due to various factors.

Some of these factors include:

  1. Political considerations: State creation is often influenced by political considerations, such as the desire to gain more political power and influence.
  2. Constitutional Provisions: The Nigerian Constitution provides for certain requirements that must be met before a state can be created. These requirements include a minimum population size, a viable economy and a demand for state creation.
  3. Resource Allocation: State Creation can be complicated by the issue of resource allocation. Many groups feel that the current state structure does not allocate resources fairly, and they may demand state creation to address this issue.
