PERIOD 1:

2. Features of Expository Essays:
   • Introduction (clear thesis statement)
   • Body paragraphs (facts, evidence, and details)
   • Conclusion (summarize the key points)
3. Scientific Facts in Exposition:
   • Define scientific facts and give examples.
   • Discuss how scientific facts are presented in expository writing.

PERIOD 2:

1. Teacher Modelling/Explicit Instruction:
   • Read and discuss a sample expository essay on a scientific fact (e.g., climate change, the human brain, renewable energy).
   • Highlight the features of exposition and the language used.
2. Class Activity:
   • Ask learners to brainstorm scientific facts for their essays.
