NOTE

ROAD ACCIDENTS

Road accident is defined as an accident involving at least one vehicle

on a road open to public traffic in which at least one person is injured

or killed.

 

WAYS OF REDUCING/PREVENTING ROAD ACCIDENTS

  1. Ensure vehicles are in good working conditions
  2. Avoid overspeeding
  3. Don’t drink and drive
  4. Roads should be regularly maintained by the government
  5. Avoid every form of distractions while driving or crossing the road
  6. Road and traffic offenders should be punished severely to prevent a

repeat   

  1. Enlightenment and public awareness campaigns should be carried out to

educate road users on the best practices for the use of the road

  1. Law enforcement agents should be stationed on the road to ensure

complain to traffic rules
