SET INDUCTION: The teacher asks learners if they know any idiomatic expressions and uses them in context to engage their interest. For example, "He was under a cloud."

EVALUATION

The teacher asks learners to explain the meaning of various idioms and use them in sentences. Example idioms include:

  • "Break the ice"
  • "In the blink of an eye"
  • "On cloud nine"

Learners explain the meaning of idioms and use them in their own sentences.
