THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON
A. Solomon’s Request for Wisdom (I Kings 3:3-15)

  • Solomon asks God for wisdom to govern Israel, and God grants him wisdom beyond measure, making him the wisest man who ever lived.

B. Solomon’s Wisdom in Action

  • Solomon’s decision to resolve the dispute between two women (I Kings 3:16-23) demonstrates his wisdom in understanding human nature and using discernment.
  • Solomon’s administration of the kingdom and the peace and prosperity it brought (I Kings 4:29-34).

C. The Building and Dedication of the Temple (I Kings 5:1-12, 8:1-53)

  • Solomon’s wisdom is evident in the successful building of the temple and the dedication ceremony, where he prays for God’s presence to fill the temple.

D. Seeking Wisdom from God
