PRACTICAL IN SWIMMING

Swimming practicals for students can be designed to develop their skills, confidence, and safety in the water. Below is the practical swimming activities to be used.

  1. Basic swimming strokes: Teach students the fundamentals of freestyle (front crawl), backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Focus on proper form, technique, and breathing.
  2. Water safety and survival: Cover essential water safety rules and survival skills, such as entering and exiting the water safely, floating, and treading water.
  3. Diving and jumping: Instruct students on proper diving and jumping techniques from the pool edge and diving boards, emphasizing safe entry and depth awareness.
  4. Relay races and team games: Organize relay races and team-based water games to encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and improve overall swimming ability.
  5. Water polo: Introduce students to the sport of water polo, teaching them basic rules, ball-handling skills, and game strategies.
  6. Swim fitness and endurance: Incorporate endurance-building exercises and swim-specific fitness activities, such as lap swimming and interval training.
  7. Life-saving skills: Teach students basic first aid, CPR, and water rescue techniques to prepare them for emergencies in and around the water.
