EMPLOYMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Employment most generally means the state of having a job where one is

paid

 

Poverty is a state of being unable to fend for one’s basic needs such as

food, clothing, shelter etc

 

Poverty alleviation is a set of measures, both economic and humanitarian,

that are intended to permanently lift people out of poverty.

 

IMPORTANCE OF EMPLOYMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION

  1. It reduces crime rate
  2. It is a means of provision of income for the family
  3. It reduces problems that brings about poverty
  4. It provides money for personal and public use
  5. Government is able to generate revenue through taxes for capital

projects

  1. One has capital for investments and other avenues for wealth creation
  2. It leads to a rise in demand bringing about industrial growth
