SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:

  1. Explain how God guided the Israelites in the Old Testament.
  2. Identify how God guides His people today.
  3. Discuss factors that help in making godly decisions.
  4. Appreciate God’s guidance in their daily lives.

Bible (Exodus 13:17–22, Joshua 8:1–22, Hebrews 1:1, Matthew 11:27–30), Christian Religious Knowledge textbook, decision-making chart, whiteboard

STEP 1 – Review

Reviews previous lesson on leadership by Joshua and Deborah.

Students answer review questions.

STEP 2 – Introduction

Asks learners how they make decisions and who helps them in the process.

Learners respond with personal examples.

STEP 3 – Explanation

Reads and explains how God guided Israel using the cloud and fire (Exodus 13) and through specific instructions to Joshua. Explains how Jesus is God’s guide to believers today.

Learners read scriptures, ask questions, and discuss.

STEP 4 – NOTE TAKING

Summarizes the lesson content on the board.

Learners copy into their notebooks.

A. God Guided Israel

  • Exodus 13:17–22: Pillar of cloud by day, fire by night
  • Joshua 8:1–22: Specific instructions on conquering Ai

  • Through Jesus Christ and the Bible (Hebrews 1:1; Matthew 11:27–30)
  • By the Holy Spirit, conscience, and godly counsel

CONCLUSION:
