NOTE
VALUES AND FUNCTIONS OF VARIOUS ANIMAL FEED STUFF
- Supply of energy: Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are macronutrients that provide energy to the body. Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy, while fats serve as a concentrated source of energy. Proteins can also be used for energy if needed, but their primary role is in tissue building and repair.
- Help in milk production: Nutrients like calcium, protein, and certain vitamins (such as vitamin D) are essential for milk production in lactating individuals. Calcium is particularly crucial for maintaining bone health and facilitating muscle contractions, including those involved in milk production.
- Help in tissue formation: Proteins are the main macronutrient responsible for tissue formation in the body. Amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, are used to construct and repair tissues such as muscles, organs, skin, and hair. Additionally, vitamins and minerals play supportive roles in tissue formation and repair.
- Repair of worn-out tissues: Proteins play a significant role in the repair of worn-out tissues. During periods of tissue damage or stress, the body relies on dietary protein to repair and rebuild damaged tissues. Adequate intake of protein, along with essential vitamins and minerals, supports the body's ability to repair tissues efficiently.
- Help in temperature regulation: Water plays a critical role in temperature regulation through sweating and evaporation. When the body overheats, sweat glands release water onto the skin's surface, which then evaporates, dissipating heat and helping to cool the body. Adequate hydration is essential for maintaining proper temperature regulation and preventing overheating or dehydration.
EVALUATION: 1. Identify animal feeds stuff that are responsible for the following functions
I.) Supply of energy
II.) Milk production
III.) Repair of worn-out tissues
IV.) Tissue formation
V.) Temperature regulation
CLASSWORK: As in evaluation
CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the students positively
