STEP 1:

STEP 2:
The teacher presents a passage from a news article or short story. The teacher reads the passage aloud, and together with the students, they identify the topic sentence. The teacher then demonstrates how to summarize the passage into 4 sentences, focusing on retaining only the critical information.

STEP 3:
Learners are given a passage to read independently. They are asked to highlight the main ideas and summarize the passage into 4 sentences. Afterward, they share their summaries with a partner or in small groups, offering feedback to each other.
