NOTE

DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS OF CITIZENS

Duties and obligations are constitutional responsibilities that active citizen

carry out for the smooth running of governance.

Some of the duties and obligations of citizens are;

  1. political obligations- this includes political responsibilities such as
  2. voting during elections
  3. readiness to serve in any capacity as appointed by the

government

  1. contesting for political positions
  2. obedience and respect for the constitution and laws
  3. Social obligations-These are social responsibilities such as
  4. orderliness in public places
  5. respect and obedience of constituted authority
  6. keeping the environment safe and clean
  7. protecting and maintaining public infrastructures
  8. Economic responsibilities-These are economic responsibilities such as
  9. paying of taxes
  10. private individuals and companies funding of government projects
  11. corporate social responsibilities (CSR)
