NOTE
SAFETY WEARS AND THEIR USES
The following are different Safety Wears used in.a workplace:
- Hard Hats: Also known as safety helmets, hard hats are worn to protect the head from falling objects, impact from bumping into objects, and electrical hazards in construction, manufacturing, and industrial settings.
- Safety Glasses/Goggles: Safety glasses or goggles are worn to protect the eyes from flying debris, chemical splashes, dust, and other hazards in industries such as construction, manufacturing, laboratories, and woodworking.
- Respirators: Respirators are worn to protect the respiratory system from inhaling harmful substances, such as dust, fumes, gases, vapors, and airborne pathogens, in environments where air quality may be compromised, such as construction sites, chemical plants, and healthcare settings.
- Safety Gloves: Safety gloves are worn to protect the hands from cuts, abrasions, chemical exposures, and punctures in industries such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and laboratories.
- Safety Boots/Shoes: Safety boots or shoes are worn to protect the feet from falling objects, crushing injuries, punctures, electrical hazards, and slips, trips, and falls in construction, manufacturing, and industrial settings.
- Chemical Protective Clothing: Chemical protective clothing, such as coveralls, aprons, and suits, is worn to protect the skin and body from exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances in industries such as chemical manufacturing, laboratories, and hazardous waste cleanup.
Uses of Safety Wears
- Safety wears such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and boots provide protection against physical hazards such as falling objects, impacts, cuts, punctures, and crushing injuries.
- Respirators, chemical protective clothing, and gloves protect against exposure to harmful chemicals, fumes, vapors, and splashes, reducing the risk of chemical burns, respiratory irritation, and systemic toxicity.
- Earplugs and earmuffs protect against noise-induced hearing loss by reducing exposure to loud noises in noisy environments, preserving hearing health and preventing auditory damage.
- High-visibility clothing enhances visibility in low-light conditions or areas with moving vehicles or machinery, reducing the risk of collisions, accidents, and injuries.
- Respirators protect against inhalation of airborne contaminants, including dust, particles, gases, and biological agents, safeguarding respiratory health and preventing respiratory illnesses and diseases.
- Safety wears play a crucial role in preventing workplace injuries, accidents, and illnesses by providing physical protection, reducing exposure to hazards, and enhancing worker safety and well-being.
EVALUATION: 1. Identify 5 safety wears used in a workplace
- Mention 5 uses of the safety wears identified in 1 above
CLASSWORK: As in evaluation
CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the students positively
