NOTE

FARM SURVEYING

Farm surveying is defined as the process of measuring and mapping out the position, topography, size and boundary of an area of farmland.

 

IMPORTANCE OF FARM SURVEYING

  1. It helps us determine by measurement the positions of features on the farm and the extent of the agricultural farm land (the hectare of land).
  2. It helps to determine the nature and type of soils and the land use capability so that the soil is put to the best and maximum use
  3. It helps in determining the amount of input of Labour, seeds, fertilizers and chemicals to be used in the farm
  4. It helps the farmer to make decisions on locations of various farm buildings and structures
  5. Loans can be got with the help of farm survey plans
