  1. Definition of Active Sentence
  2. Definition of Passive Sentence
  3. Active Tense: S + V + O (e.g., Ojo killed a rat)
  4. Passive Tense: O + V + S (e.g., A rat was killed by Ojo)

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, learners should be able to:
a. Define active and passive voice
b. Identify the structure of active and passive sentences
c. Convert sentences from active to passive voice and vice versa

SET INDUCTION: The teacher writes two sentences on the board and asks learners to observe the difference in structure:

  • Ojo killed a rat.
  • A rat was killed by Ojo.

The teacher defines active and passive voice and gives examples: Active: S + V + O → Ojo killed a rat. Passive: O + V + S → A rat was killed by Ojo.

Learners observe, listen, and note the sentence structure difference.

The teacher asks learners to change given active sentences to passive and vice versa.

Learners attempt the transformations aloud or in their notebooks.
