NOTE
FUEL SYSTEM II
The following are the main components and parts of a fuel system in a vehicle:
- Fuel Tank: The container that stores the fuel until it is needed by the engine.
- Fuel Pump: The component responsible for drawing fuel from the fuel tank and delivering it to the engine at the correct pressure.
- Fuel Filter: A device that removes impurities and contaminants from the fuel before it reaches the engine, helping to protect the engine and fuel system components from damage.
- Fuel Lines: Tubes or hoses that carry the fuel from the fuel tank to the engine, and from the fuel pump to the fuel injectors or carburetor.
- Fuel Injectors: Components that deliver fuel directly into the engine cylinders in a precise and controlled manner, typically used in fuel-injected engines.
- Carburetor: A device that mixes fuel with air in the correct ratio before delivering it to the engine cylinders, typically used in carbureted engines.
- Fuel Pressure Regulator: A component that maintains a consistent fuel pressure within the fuel system, ensuring proper fuel delivery and engine performance under various operating conditions.
- Fuel Rail: A pipe or rail that delivers fuel to the fuel injectors in a fuel-injected engine.
- Fuel Gauge: A device that indicates the fuel level in the fuel tank to the driver, typically located on the vehicle's instrument panel.
- Fuel Cap: A sealing cap or cover that prevents fuel from spilling out of the fuel tank and keeps contaminants from entering the tank.
EVALUATION: 1. Identify 4 components and parts of fuel system
- Explain the components mentioned in 1 above
CLASSWORK: As in evaluation
CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the students positively
