PERIOD 1 AND 2: Organizing and Presenting an Argumentative Essay

INTRODUCTION

  • Teacher introduces argumentative writing, explaining that it is a form of writing that presents both sides of an issue before offering a personal stance.
  • Discussion of the structure of an argumentative essay: Introduction, Body (with supporting arguments), and Conclusion.
  • Teacher explains the importance of evidence and logic in forming convincing arguments.

TEACHING METHOD:

  1. Argumentative Essay Structure:
    • Introduction: Briefly present the issue and state your position.
    • Body: Present reasons to support your argument, backed by facts, figures, or logical explanations.
