Nigeria Ports Authority(NPA)

The Nigeria Ports Authority(NPA) are a government constituted organization responsible for the controlling of the activities at the sea ports in Nigeria.

Nigeria currently has seaports in Lagos, Portharcourt, Warri, Calabar, Sapele etc

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE NIGERIA PORTS AUTHORITY(NPA)

  1. They maintain and improve the sea ports
  2. The collect revenue and dock fees
  3. They provide warehouses for cargoes before they are loaded or unloaded on vessels
  4. They provide security for goods at the seaports
  5. They provide ship re-fueling and maintenance
  6. They provide accommodation for immigration, customs and shipping officials working at the seaports
