SET INDUCTION: The teacher writes a few common words and their possible synonyms on the board and asks learners to find more synonyms.

Learners listen and give examples of words they know that have similar meanings.

The teacher gives examples of synonym pairs and explains slight meaning differences where applicable. Teacher guides sentence formation with the words: mimic, rigid, sincere, bold, etc.

Learners repeat the pairs after the teacher and write them down.

The teacher calls individual learners to match words with their correct synonyms.

Learners match words and attempt to use them in meaningful sentences.

CLASS-WORK

The teacher gives a list of words and asks learners to write 1–2 synonyms for each: 1. Honest

Learners write synonyms for the words provided.
